Tungsten Catalysts for Visible Light Driven Ofloxacin Photocatalytic Degradation and Hydrogen Production

Some tungsten catalysts of interest that are synthesized bismuth tungstate (BT) and Tetrabutylammonium decatungstate (TBADT), using two consolidated procedures. BT is used as a photo-catalyst for the simulated solar light degradation ofloxacin (OFL) antibiotic under relevant real conditions (µg L−1, fresh water) with limit 0.05 g L−1 catalyst. A quantitative drug decomposition occurred following bi-exponential first-order law, an efficiency comparable most P25 TiO2 The photocatalytic profiles OFL at µg mg were monitored by high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled fluorescence (FD) ultraviolet (UV) detectors. Additionally, main photoproducts identified to electrospray ionization in tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS). catalyst (TBADT) was produce hydrogen from glucose 2-propanol aqueous solution, providing gas evolution up 10 µmol g−1 h−1.
